Production of unique and original paper pulp from raw materials.
Sculptural forms and sheet. Construction of frames and vats. Direct application

All types of weaving on all types of
equipment. Looms: multi-harness rising and falling shed; frame, tapestry,
card, table, AVL and other dobby; semi-automated. One of a kind and production
yardage over 300 yards per sectional warp. Wholesale. Garments sold nationally
through Apparel Industry reps. Three-dimensional sculptural forms. |

Resist techniques; direct painting
and dyeing, screen & direct printing; airbrush; machine and hand stitching;

Animal and plant fibers (including growing the plants and breeding
of Black sheep); wheel and drop, manual and automated, fancy and plain. |

CERAMICS |
Customized clay bodies, high refraction paper clay sculpture
body, stoneware, earthenware and other custom mixes. Tools and equipment
of the clay studio: clay mixers, spray booth, extruder, slab roller, test
kilns, electric and kick wheels, etc. Firing: gas and electric, saggar,
raku, pit, fuming, etc. Full range of firing temperatures; oxidation
and reduction. Constructed outside firing areas, participated in wood
firing. Research into combining elemental metals directly into clay
body. Non-traditional surface treatments as well as standard glaze formulations. |

Standard equipment and tools, electroforming; research into
electroforming on/in ceramic body and paper. Patinas; chemical and heat.
Casting: foundry and small scale, bronze and silver; investment and ceramic

CEO, founder and designer for MILLER
DESIGN, INC. an apparel design and manufacturing company. Design, hand
weaving and surface design; manufacturing and sales of hand-woven and
hand-painted wholesale apparel. This business was geared to an operating
schedule of five wholesale markets per year. As in any entrepreneurial
venture, handled all duties and responsibilities at one time or another.
Designed five seasons per year for two lines, all fabrics and garments
produced on site. Managed all operations of the company. Supervised
twenty production personnel, three office staff and sales manager. Directed
and trained for all office operations, weavers and production crew. Scheduled
all production. Personally attended and manned sales booths at regional
markets and trade shows across the country. Arranged all travel and traveled
frequently. Directed inventory management and flow. Performed all financial
functions, manual and computerized, including costing, financial projections,
analysis and all bookkeeping operations. Coordinated and conducted all
purchasing. Researched, organized, prepared and presented projections
and prospectus to investors. Developed and prepared all advertising and
marketing of the apparel line including creation of product line book
and catalog; mailing to retail clients and buyers, press releases. |
